اثر تغییرات قیمت نفت بر سوددهی بانک

این مقاله به بررسی رابطه بین تغییرات قیمت نفت و سوددهی بانک با استفاده از داده های 88 بانک در 11 کشور عضو mena در دوره 2011-2006 می پردازد. متغیر وابسته سوددهی بانک است (نسبت سود بانک به کل دارایی ها) و متغیرهای مستقل شامل متغیرهای خاص بانکی، خاص کشوری و تغییرات قیمت نفت می باشد. در این مقاله برای بررسی اثرات مستقیم و غیر مستقیم تغییرات قیمت نفت بر روی سوددهی بانک ها از یک متد پنل پویا (سیستم gmm) در نرم افزار eviews استفاده شده است. نتایج نشان می دهند که تغییرات قیمت نفت اثر مستقیم بر روی سوددهی بانک دارد .هم چنین در تفکیک ساختاری بانک ها به سه نوع سرمایه گذاری، تجاری و اسلامی تنها سوددهی بانک های اسلامی از تغییرات قیمت نفت تاثیر می پذیرند.

The Effect of Oil Price Changes on Bank Profitability

This paper analyzes the relationship between oil price shocks and bank profitability, using data from 88 banks in 11 oilexporting MENA countries for 20062012. The dependent variable is the return on assets, measured as the ratio of bank profits to total assets. and the independent variables include bankspecific, and countryspecific variables, and oil price changes. We test the hypotheses of direct and indirect effects of oil price shocks on bank profitability via a dynamic panel method (system GMM). Our results indicate that oil price changes have direct impact on bank profitability. To differentiate the impact of oil price shocks on banks with different organizational structures we introduce interaction terms for oil price with commercial, Islamic, and investment banks. Our results indicate that Islamic banks appear to be the only affected ones by oil price shocks.
