بررسی تشکیلات نظامی و جایگاه ارتش در خلافت فاطمی مصر

خلافت فاطمیان (297-567ق) از شاخصه‏های نظامی و سیاسی ویژه‏ای در جهان اسلام برخوردار بود. تکیه‏ی خلفای فاطمی بر سازماندهی ارتش زمینی و دریاییِ قدرتمند منجر به گستردگی این خلافت و دستیابی به قدرت سیاسی و نظامی در رقابت با خلافت عباسی گردید. این پژوهش در صدد است تا تشکیلات نظامی و ارتش خلافت فاطمیان در مصر (358-567ق) را مورد ارزیابی قرار دهد. بدین منظور مقاله با هدف تحلیل و پاسخگویی به این پرسش‏ها نگاشته شده است: نهاد نظامی و ارتش خلافت فاطمی در مصر چگونه در فراز و فرود این دولت در جهان اسلام طی قرن‏های چهارم تا ششم هجری ایفای نقش کرد؟ ساختار و نهاد ارتش فاطمی براساس نیاز و الگوی حکومت‏های اسلامی چگونه شکل گرفت؟ اداره‏ی تشکیلات گسترده‏ی ارتش فاطمی بر عهده‏ی کدام نهادها بود؟ یافته‏های این پژوهش نشان می‏دهد که ارتش فاطمی با پشتوانه‏ی تشکیلات اداری منسجم و برخورداری از تنوع قومی و نژادی از یک سو به یکی از گسترده‏ترین نهادهای نظامی در میان دولت‏های سده‏های میانه تبدیل شد و از سوی دیگر ضعف نسبی در حفظ تعادل پایدار بین گروه‏های مختلف سربازان موجب شد آن دولت همواره در معرض آشوب‏های پادگانی قرار گیرد.

The Military Organization and the Army Position in Egypt’s Fatimid Caliphate

The Fatimid Caliphate (297567AH) enjoyed special military and political distinctions in the Islamic world. The reliance of the Fatimid caliphs on the organization of powerful land and naval forces led to the expansion of this caliphate and the achievement of political and military power in their struggle against the Abbasid caliphate. The present study seeks to evaluate the military organization and establishment of the Fatimid Caliphate in Egypt (567358 AH). To this end, it aims to analyze and answer the following questions: First, how did the Fatimid Caliphate’s army institution in Egypt contribute to the rise and fall of this government in the Muslim world during the fourth century AH to sixth century AH? Second, how did the structure of the Fatimid army form based on the need and pattern of Islamic governments? And third, which institutions were responsible for the administration of the enormous Fatimid army? The findings of this study indicate that the Fatimid army, with the backing of a coherent administrative structure and enjoying ethnic and racial diversity, became one of the most extensive military institutions within the governments of the Middle Ages. However, a relative weakness in maintaining a stable balance among different groups of soldiers made the state always vulnerable to garrison uprising.
