The authors mistakenly referred to the st2 as suppression of tumorigenicity 2,an entirely unrelated gene. the gene that is commonly reported as being a biomarker that is upregulated in heart failure and other systemic inflammatory diseases (and that the authors intended to refer to in this manuscript) is the gene il1rl1 (interleukin 1 receptor like 1). ambiguously,this was originally also termed st2; hence the error that has been commonly made in the literature. the article has been corrected and all reference to suppression of tumorigenicity 2 has been corrected to soluble st2. the authors regret the error. the online version of the article has been updated and is available at http://jaha.ahajournals.org/content/6/2/e004382. © 2017 the authors.
