watching movie everyday can improve the foreign language speaking skill

The purpose of this research is to find out in detail the process of the results of improving englishspeaking skills through collaborative learning using movie as a media. this research is an action researchconducted at the english literature study program at darma persada university with 30 participants. dataobtained from the results of english speaking skills tests. the results showed the learning process byusing movie as a media made students become more active in the learning process of speaking skills, thisis indicated by the level of their participation in learning interactions. while the results of increasedlearning skills and english speaking skills using movie as a media there was a significant increase fromthe pre-action stage to the third cycle in the research process. the average value of students in the preactionstage was only 49 and then increased in cycle i to 53. while in cycle ii the average value ofstudents was 56.5 and increased in cycle iii to 71. thus it can be concluded that action researchconducted with using movie as a media significantly helps students improve their english speaking skills.
