تعیین محدوده تربت و حائر حسینی (ع) نقشی تعیین‌کننده در حدود و ثغور دو حکم استحباب اتمام نماز در حائر و اخذ تربت جهت استشفا دارد. این تحقیق با روش توصیفی و تحلیلی پس‌ از آنکه دیدگاه فقها را با نگاهی نقّادانه بررسی می‌کند و ادله روایی این باب را که به‌ظاهر مشتمل بر اختلافات بارزی است بازنگری نموده، در نهایت با دقت در ادله و بهره‌گیری از کلمات معصومان: و توجه به روح واژه‌ها و لحاظ نمودن تاریخ صدور احکام و در نظر گرفتن قرائن دیگر و با عنایت به فلسفه صدور حکم، به این نتیجه رسیده که مقصود از تربت حسینی(ع) همان مکانی است که حوادث روز عاشورا در آن به وقوع پیوسته و منطبق با ارض کربلا در زمان خود حضرت سیدالشهدا(ع) بوده و اعداد و ارقامی که در این رابطه گفته‌شده از باب بیان مراتب فضیلت و شرافت و اثر است؛ به‌طوری‌که مرقد مطهر مرکز دایره شفاست و هرچه نماز به آن نزدیک‌تر اقامه شود مطلوب‌تر است.

The determination of the areas of Torbat and Ha’iri Husseini plays a crucial role in restricting two rulings: completing prayers in the Ha’ir and taking the Torbat for healing. This descriptiveanalytical study first examined the views of jurists critically; it then reviewed the narrative proofs of this issue, which appear to contain obvious differences; it examined the proofs and used the words of the Infallibles (AS), it focused on the nature of the words, considered the issuance date of the rulings and other proofs, and the philosophy of issuing the rulings. The study came to a conclusion that ​​Torbati Husseini area is the place where the events of Āshūrā took place and, in accordance with the land of Karbala, it was at the time of Imam Hussein (AS). The numbers and figures mentioned in this regard are about expressing the levels of virtue, honor, and effect; so that, the holy shrine is the focal point of healing. The closer the prayer is to it, the more desirable it is.
