علائم رفتاری و روان‌شناختی بیماری آلزایمر در بزرگسالان مبتلابه نشانگان داون: یک مطالعه مقایسه‌ای

زمینه و هدف: بیماری آلزایمر، یکی از شایع ترین بیماری ها در بزرگسالان مبتلابه نشانگان داون به شمار می رود. این بیماری همراه با مشکلات رفتاری و حالات روان شناختی متعددی است. پژوهش حاضر با هدف مقایسه علائم رفتاری و روان شناختی بزرگسالان مبتلابه نشانگان داون در دو گروه بدون بیماری آلزایمر و با بیماری آلزایمر انجام شد.روش: روش پژوهش، توصیفی از نوع علیمقایسه ای بود. جامعه موردپژوهش تمامی بزرگسالان مبتلابه نشانگان داون بودند که در مراکز معلولین و کم توانان ذهنی شهر تهران در سال 94 به صورت تمام وقت نگهداری می شدند و یا به صورت نیمه وقت مشغول فعالیت های توان بخشی بودند. با استفاده از روش نمونه گیری در دسترس تعداد 35 نفر از بزرگسالان مبتلابه نشانگان داون بدون بیماری آلزایمر و 24 نفر از بزرگسالان مبتلابه نشانگان داون با بیماری آلزایمر انتخاب شدند و مورد مقایسه قرار گرفتند. ابزار پژوهش، پرسشنامه غربالگری زوال عقل برای افراد با ناتوانی های ذهنی بود که در سال 2007 توسط شومیترو ساخته شده است. برای تجزیه وتحلیل داده ها، از شاخص های آماری چون میانگین، انحراف معیار و تحلیل واریانس چندمتغیره استفاده شد. یافته ها: نتایج پژوهش، به طورکلی تفاوت معناداری را ازلحاظ علائم رفتاری و روان شناختی بین دو گروه نشان دادند. همچنین، در زیر مقیاس های خصومت/ پرخاشگری، تخریب اموال، عدم تبعیت، اختلال در فعالیت اجتماعی، افسردگی و مشکلات خواب تفاوت معناداری بین دو گروه مشاهده شد. نتیجه گیری: نتایج پژوهش حاضر، نقش و اهمیت بیماری آلزایمر را در ایجاد یا تشدید علائم رفتاری و روان شناختی بزرگسالان مبتلابه نشانگان داون برجسته می سازد. ازاین رو، ارزیابی دقیق علائم آلزایمر در بزرگسالان مبتلابه نشانگان داون به منظور تسهیل فرآیند تشخیص زودهنگام و مداخله به موقع، ضروری به نظر می رسد.

Behavioral and psychological symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease in adults with Down syndrome: a comparative study

Background and aims: Alzheimer is one of the most common diseases in adults with Down syndrome. This disease is associated with several behavioral problems psychological states. The present study aimed to compare the behavioral and psychological symptoms of adults with Down syndrome in two groups of subjects with and without Alzheimer rsquo;s disease.Methods: The research method was causalcomparative and the study population was all of adults with Down syndrome which held in the centers of handicap intellectual disability of Tehran city in 1394 on a fulltime basis or engaged in the rehabilitative activities on a parttime basis. Using the convenient sampling, 35 people without Alzheimer rsquo;s disease and 24 people with Alzheimer rsquo;s disease were selected and compared. The material was Dementia Screening Questionnaire for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities which developed by Shoumitro in 2007. Collected data were analyzed through statistics such as mean, standard deviation and multivariate analyze of variance.Results: In general, the results indicated a significant difference between the two groups in terms of the behavioral and psychological symptoms as well as subscales such as hostility/aggression, destruction of property, noncompliance, impaired social activities, depression and sleep disturbances.Conclusion: The findings highlight the role and importance of Alzheimer rsquo;s disease in developing or intensifying the behavioral and psychological symptoms in adults with Down syndrome. Hence, an accurate assessment of Alzheimer's symptoms in adults with Down syndrome in order to facilitate the process of early diagnosis and timely intervention is essential.
