چکیده
|
The present study deals with modality which is a very important subject in english and arabic. though modality is found in both languages but there is a difference between the two languages .modality is referring to the speaker‟s attitude towards the assessment of / or judgment of what the speaker says.we introduce a modality where are words and phrases that convey modality meanings and subcategorize for clauses and verbal phrases. modality is the grammaticalized expression of the speaker's subjective attitudes and psychological stances towards propositions and events and their factuality status.modality is about a speakers‟ or a writers‟ attitude toward the world. a speaker or writer by using modal words and expressions can express certainty, possibility, willingness, obligation, necessity and ability. speakers always have different opinions about the same thing.
