مانع اخلاقی‌زیستن از نظر پولس: زندگی بر حسب جسم و عُجب ناشی از آن

اخلاق پولسی اخلاق فضیلت‌محور است. فضایل مد نظر پولس، یعنی ایمان، امید و محبت، فضایلی هستند که خدا به انسان داده باشد. به نظر وی، کسی که به مسیح ایمان آوَرَد، از درون متحول خواهد شد و زندگی‌اش اخلاقی خواهد بود. با توجه به سرشت گناه‌آلود، آدمی قبل از ایمان بر حسب جسم زندگی می‌کند و برایش امکان تحول و تعالی نیست. طبیعت انسانی بدون فیض خدا گرفتار خواهش‌های نفسانی است. به عقیده پولس، شرط اخلاقی‌زیستن ایمان و بر حسب روح ‌زیستن است و مانع اخلاقی‌زیستن بی‌ایمانی و بر حسب جسم‌ زیستن است. مسئله مهمی که باید به آن توجه کرد این است که چه‌بسا کسی ایمان آورده باشد، اما از بند جسم رها نشده باشد و زندگی جسمانی و روحانی‌اش در حال تنازع باشد. در میان رذایلِ ناشی از زندگی بر حسب جسم، عُجب مهم‌ترین مانع اخلاقی‌زیستن است، چراکه سبب می‌شود انسان گمان کند آنچه خدا بدو داده است، از آن خود او است و از روی استحقاق خودش آنها را به دست آورده است. کسی که دچار عجب شود خود را از فیض خدا بی‌نیاز می‌داند و دچار توهم دانایی می‌شود و نخواهد توانست اخلاقی زندگی کند. در این مقاله با روش توصیفی‌ تحلیلی، دیدگاه پولس درباره زندگی بر حسب جسم و عجب ناشی از آن به ‌عنوان مانع اخلاقی‌زیستن تبیین خواهد شد.

paul’s ethics is virtueoriented ethics. paul’s virtues, namely faith, hope and love, are virtues that god has given to man. according to him, one who believes in christ will be transformed from within and his life will be moral. given the sinful nature, man lives in terms of the body before faith, and it is not possible for him to change and transcend. human nature, without the grace of god, is caught up in carnal desires. according to paul, the condition of moral living is having faith and living up to the spirit, and the barrier of moral living is unbelief and living up to the flesh.the important thing to consider is that someone may have had faith but not been released from the body, and therefore their physical and spiritual lives are in conflict. among the vices caused by living in terms of the flesh, arrogance is the most important obstacle to moral living, because it makes man think that what god has given him is his own and that he has earned it by his own merit. the one who becomes arrogant considers himself needless of god’s grace and is under delusion of being knowledgeable and will not be able to live morally. in this article, using the descriptiveanalytical method, paul’s view of life in terms of the body and the arrogance caused by it as a barrier to moral living is explained.
