در همه نظام‌های حقوقی تلاش بر این است که جرائم و بزهکاری را کاهش دهند و امنیت ملی جامعه متبوع را ارتقا بخشند، اما اینکه این هدف با چه سیاست و راهکارهایی تامین می‌شود، هر نظام حقوقی ویژگی‌های خویش را دارد. در نظام حقوقی فقه امامیه، اصول حاکم بر سیاست جنایی‌اش می‌تواند در کاهش جرائم و ثبات امنیت ملی، نقش مهمی ایفا کند. از این‌رو در صددیم اصول حاکم بر سیاست جنایی فقه امامیه را به منظور کاهش جرم و بزهکاری و ثبات امنیت ملی بررسی کنیم. یافته‌های تحقیق با روش تحلیلی و توصیفی، حاکی از آن است که میان مولفه‌هایی چون توسعه تعلیم و تربیت، اقدامات پیش‌گیرانه وضعی، توجه به قضازدایی و کیفرزدایی، رعایت حریم خصوصی، و احیای کرامت انسانی بزهکار رابطه معناداری وجود دارد و در صورت رعایت و نهادینه‌شدن این اصول در قوانین جنایی، جرائم کاهش می‌یابد و ضریب امنیت ملی ارتقا پیدا می‌کند.
