بررسی تطبیقی تاثیر تعداد فرزندان بر فقر اعضای نهاد خانواده در کشورهای مختلف

باور عمومی آن است که فرزندان بیشتر، موجب فقر می‌شود. پرسش آن است که آیا واقعاً چنین است و با افزایش تعداد خانواده، فقر آنها بیشتر می‌شود؟ این پرسش را به دو شکل مطرح کرده‌ایم: اول) آیا در زمان ثابت، خانواده‌های بزرگ‌تر فقیرتر هستند؟ دوم) آیادر طول زمان با اضافه شدن فرزندان فقر خانواده بیشتر می‌شود؟ با استفاده از روش فراتحلیلِ تحقیقاتِ تجربی در کشورهای مختلف، به این سوالات پاسخ می‌دهیم. در پاسخِ پرسش اول، بخشی از تحقیقات نشان می‌دهند با افزایش بعد خانوار، فقر بیشتر می‌شود. اما تحقیقات دیگر با طرح مفاهیمی چون مقیاس هم‌ارز و کشش بعد در محاسبه میزان فقر، نشان داده‌اند این رابطه به شرایط کشورها بستگی دارد که در شرایطی خانواده‌های بزرگتر، از رفاه بیشتری برخوردارند. در پاسخِ پرسش دوم، تحقیقات نشان می‌دهند خانواده در طول زمان و با آمدن فرزندان جدید، خود را تطبیق داده، و نه تنها فقیرتر نمی‌شود، بلکه به درآمد و دارایی آن افزوده می‌شود. در مجموع می‌توان نتیجه گرفت رابطه بعد خانوار و فقر، یک رابطه همواره مثبت یا منفی نیست، بلکه به شرایط کلان اقتصادی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی ارتباط پیدا می‌کند. از این‌رو سیاست‌هایی جهت تغییر جهت این رابطه به سمت رفاه بیشتر در خانواده‌های بزرگ‌تر پیشنهاد نموده‌ایم.

Comparative Study of the Effect of Sibling Number on the Family Institution Members Poverty in the Different Countries

The general belief is that more children is equal to more poverty. The question is in reality does family poverty increase along with its size? We have discussed this question in two ways: I) in the same time, are larger families poorer? II) In a family by children addition over time will the family be poorer? This article tries to answer these questions using metaanalysis of empirical researches in different countries. In answer to the first question, some researches show the increase in household size result in more poverty. But other researches offering concepts such as equivalence scale and size elasticity in calculating the poverty level show the relationship depends on the countries conditions. In some conditions larger families are in more welfare. To answer the second question, studies show that by more children over time a family adapted itself, and not only be poorer, but its income and assets are added. Totally the relationship between family size and poverty is not always positive or negative, but depends on economic, social and cultural conditions. Hence, policies are suggested for changing the relationship direction in larger families to be in more welfare.
