alevi organizations in germany (aabf)

A decisive step for alevi identity politics in germany was the alevi culture week, which was organized by alevis at the university of hamburg in october 1989. after this event, rapidly growing alevi associations were founded, and alevism became known to the public in germany. this article aims to introduce the alevi organizations in germany. in particular, it will focus on the federation of alevi communities in germany e.v. (almanya alevi birlikleri federasyonu, abbreviated aabf). the approximately one hundred member organizations of the aabf are constantly growing in importance. the activities of the aabf are diverse; there are numerous events, public speeches, statements, and the magazine alevilerin sesi (voice of the alevis). in this study, our focus is on the goals and activities of the aabf, which it pursues for the benefit of the alevis in germany. the aim is to answer the following questions: when and why was the aabf founded, and what significance does it have for the alevis in germany? what activities has it been involved in to date?

ein entscheidender schritt für die alevitische identitätspolitik in deutschland war die alevitische kulturwoche, die im oktober 1989 von aleviten an der universität hamburg veranstaltet wurde. nach dieser veranstaltung wurden rasch anwachsende alevitische vereine gegründet, und das alevitentum wurde in deutschland in der öffentlichkeit bekannt. dieser artikel hat zum ziel, die alevitischen organisationen in deutschland vorzustellen. insbesondere soll es dabei um die föderation der aleviten-gemeinden in deutschland e.v. (almanya alevi birlikleri federasyonu, abgekürzt aabf) gehen. die circa hundert mitgliedsorganisationen der aabf nehmen beständig an bedeutung zu. die aktivitäten der aabf sind vielfältig; es gibt zahlreiche veranstaltungen, öffentliche reden, erklärungen und die zeitschrift „alevilerin sesi“ (stimme der aleviten). unser augenmerk gilt in dieser untersuchung den zielen und aktivitäten der aabf, die sie zum nutzen der aleviten in deutschland verfolgt. ziel ist es, folgende fragen zu beantworten: wann und warum wurde die aabf gegründet, und welche bedeutung hat sie für die aleviten in deutschland? mit welchen aktivitäten hat sie sich bis heute beschäftigt?
