Shear behaviour is one of the most important properties that make fabrics unique among paper or plastic products. shear deformation is an important parameter that defines the handle,pliability and drape of the fabrics. on the other hand,shear rigidity influences the strength and bending properties of woven fabrics. in this article the terms about shear deformation are explained,assumptions and models are summarised,shear deformation testing devices and their principles are examined. the advantages and disadvantages of the test methods are also considered and compared.
