Investigation on Bursting Strength and Pilling Properties of Viloft/Polyester Blended Knitted Fabrics [Viloft/polyester karisimli örme kumaslarin patlama mukavemeti ve boncuklanma özelliklerinin arastirilmasi]

Viloft is a modified viscose fiber with a flat cross-section and crenulated surface that maintains air gaps in the yarns,especially used with polyester blends which help to improve the thermal properties of the fabrics. in this study,in order to characterize some mechanical properties of viloft/polyester blended knitted fabrics,0/100,33/67,50/50,67/33 and 100/0 percentages of viloft/polyester slivers were produced and spun as ne 30/1 linear density on a ring spinning system. single-jersey and 1x1 rib fabrics were produced and the bursting strength and pilling properties of these fabrics were measured. viloft-rich blends,in general,decreased the bursting strength; however there is not a significant effect by changing the viloft percentage in the blend for pilling properties. in addition,the pilling values of 1x1 rib fabrics are more than single jersey fabrics.
