Aspects of publications of some recognized Pakistani scientists,part II: Fellows of the Pakistan academy of sciences elected for the period 1995-2008

During the period under review (1995-2008) the academy elected 48 fellows in 14 years,as compared to 106 fellows elected during the previous period of 42 years (1953-1994) studied earlier [1],indicating an increase in induction rate of about 45% over exactly one third years of time period. it has been observed that out of the 48 elected fellows 37 scientists belonged to the education sector (university) and 11 were from the r&d organizations,thus representing 77% and 23% share,respectively. the data pertaining to awards and medals won by these scientists,their ages at election to fellowship of the academy and their activity span,number of publications both in national and international journals,number of co-authors are also listed and analyzed in the text. the observations and analysis of the data are good proof that hard work,carried out under any and varying environment,does provide recognition and award. it is not worthy that the majority of the fellows of the pakistan academy of sciences earned their frst award and the fellowship of the academy at age groups of 20 to 60,respectively; proving that excellence of scientific achievement is not strictly dependent on a particular age group.
