چکیده    The arabic life of severus of antioch was translated from a coptic text. it survives only in three manuscripts from the eighteenth century (one from saint antony monastery, one from the suriani monastery and one from the coptic patriarchate). in this article,we will study the quotations of his life that occur in the copto-arablc texts dated from the eleventh century to the seventeenth century. these quotations are taken from the books of the history of the patriarchs, the professions of the fathers, the lamp of darkness. we have also some indications of manuscripts used by a bishop of assiut in the fifteenth century as well as manuscripts that served as an original for the ethiopian version in addition to a manuscript from the collection of the monastery of saint paul (near the red sea).
