Jacob of Serugh's memra on what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his Soul (Vat. Syr. 118)

The present work is part of a personal project begun in 2012 to study the memre attributed to jacob of serugh in the vatican manuscript,vat. syr. 1181,in order to trace the identity of the author. knowing the breadth of this collection from the maronite patriarchate of beirut,and being able to dedicate for this cause only my non-working days,i am aware that i will not be able to reach a satisfying conclusion. i hope that scholars interested in jacob of serugh's writings would join me in this endeavor2.
