Rosai-Dorfman disease involving lymph nodes of head & neck

Rosai-dorfman disease is an idiopathic histiocytic proliferative disorder characterized by sinus histiocytosis and massive lymphadenopathy extranodal involvement has also been reported. we report the case of a 9 yr old boy who presented with fever,bilateral neck swelling and weight loss. his cervical lymph node biopsy revealed rosai-dorfman disease. rosai-dorfman disease can mimic other childhood conditions including langerhans cell histiocytosis and lymphoma. as in this case,its typical presentation includes bilateral symmetrical painless cervical lymphadenopathy.
