چکیده    Acute hepatitis e is commonly seen in countries with hot climate, poor sanitation and unhygienic water supplies. anemia is one of the complications of acute viral hepatitis. the present study reports a patient with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (g6pd) deficiency having hepatitis e infection leading to severe hemolysis and acute renal failure. we emphasize that in patients with acute viral hepatitis e presenting with jaundice and severe hemolytic anemia,g6pd deficiency should be ruled out and measures be taken to prevent renal failure.
