چکیده    Giant cell tumor (gct) of bone is a benign but locally aggressive neoplasm that shows a predilection for the asian population. in up to 5% of cases it may metastasize, usually to the lungs. it afflicts skeletally mature patients with bones around the knee joint being the most commonly effected. other common sites are distal radius, proximal humerus, fibula and sacrum. there is a small subset of small bone-gct which is far more infrequent. it has a different demographic profile occurring in patients before physeal closure; involves small bones of hands and feet, may be multi centric, and presents with a shorter duration of symptoms. this group tends to be more aggressive a feature of great clinical importance considering the compact nature of hand and foot anatomies.
