Complications in patients of acute/chronic renal failure during haemodialysis

Aim: to determine the frequency of different complications during haemodialysis. study design: cross sectional study. place and duration: this study was conducted at district teaching hospital,ghazi khan medical college,dg khan from january 2014 to december 2014. a total of 227 patients were included. methods: the study was conducted in dialysis unit of district teaching hospital,ghazi khan medical college,dg khan.227 patients were selected who were undergoing haemodialysis due to acute/chronic renal failure. all the patients were evaluated for possible complications of haemodialysis namely psychological/git/cardiovascular and neurological complications. results: the most common complication was depressive illness and was observed in 140 (61.6%) patients,other vomiting,fever,itching and hypotension. the causative relations of the complications with other parameters were assessed. conclusion: a very high frequency of the complications associated with maintenance haemodialysis.
