چکیده
|
A field trial was conducted to evaluate the impact of sowing date and row spacing on the yield and quality of sesame variety th-6. the experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (rcbd) with split plot arrangement. sowing dates (15 th june,25 th june,05 th july and 15 th july) were placed in main plots and row spacing (15,30 and 45 cm) were assigned to the sub-plots. the crop was grown up to maturity and the data on yield and quality attributes was recorded using standard procedures. the results revealed that all the yield attributing parameters were significantly affected by different sowing dates with different row spacing. the maximum plant height (158.9 cm),number of plants per m 2 (60.33),number of capsule per plant (24.90),biological (4.003 mg ha -1) and seed yield (0.857 mg ha -1),harvest index (21.42%),and oil yield (0.371 mg ha -1) were recorded in plots where sesame was sown at 15 th june with row spacing of 15 cm. th-6 variety of sesame sown on 15 th june with 15cm row spacing seems to be best to get higher yield under agro-climatic conditions of faisalabad, pakistan.
