اثر بلایای طبیعی بر رشد اقتصادی در کشورهای منتخب آسیا

در سال‌‌های اخیر، افزایش چشمگیر در دفعات و شدت بروز بلایای طبیعی منجر به از بین رفتن سرمایه کشورها و جان سپردن انسانها شده است. شواهد نشان می‌دهد که رشد اقتصادی کشورها متاثر از بلایای طبیعی می‌باشد و رشد اقتصادی در کشورهای در حال توسعه نسبت به کشورهای توسعه یافته به بلایای طبیعی بیشتر حساس است. بنابراین در این مطالعه با استفاده از رهیافت خود رگرسیون با وقفه‌‌های گسترده پنلی (panel ardl) تاثیر بلایای طبیعی بر رشد اقتصادی در 6 کشور آسیایی که بالاترین میزان مرگ و میر ناشی از بلایای طبیعی را داشته‌اند طی سال‌های 2020-2001 بررسی شد. کشورهای مورد بررسی شامل کشورهای ایران، اندونزی، بنگلادش، پاکستان، فیلیپین و هند می‌باشند. همچنین تاثیر متغیرهای جمعیت فعال، سرمایه‌گذاری خارجی، شاخص توسعه انسانی، اندازه دولت و شاخص پیچیدگی اقتصادی نیز بر رشد اقتصادی مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. نتایج نشان داد که بلایای طبیعی در کوتاه‌مدت و بلندمدت اثر منفی و معنی‌داری بر رشد اقتصادی کشورهای مورد بررسی داشته است. همچنین متغیر اندازه دولت نیز تاثیر منفی بر رشد اقتصادی کشورها را نشان داد. از طرفی متغیرهای جمعیت فعال، سرمایه‌گذاری خارجی، شاخص توسعه انسانی و پیچیدگی اقتصادی اثر مثبت و معنی‌داری بر تولید ناخالص داخلی دارند.

the impact of natural disasters on economic growth in selected asian countries

in recent years, a significant increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters has led to the loss of capital and human lives. evidence suggests that each country’s economic growth is affected by natural disasters. additionally, economic growth in developing countries is more sensitive to natural disasters than in developed countries. therefore, this study examined the impact of natural disasters on economic growth during 2001-2020 using the panel autoregressive distributed lag (panel-ardl) model in six asian countries that had the highest mortality rates from natural disasters. also, iran, indonesia, bangladesh, pakistan, the philippines, and india were studied in this paper. additionally, the impact of other variables, such as the working population, foreign investment, human development index, government size, and economic complexity index, on economic growth has been examined. the empirical results show that natural disasters have a significant negative effect on economic growth in the short and long terms. moreover, the size of the government harms economic growth. on the other hand, the working population, foreign investment, human development index, and economic complexity had a significant positive effect on economic growth.
