چکیده    Objectives: to know the relation of demographic variables with cardiovascular risk factors in different blood groups.material and methods: a community based investigation was carried from urban and rural areas of peshawar from january 2008 to december 2009. the data collected was subject to correlation regression analysis. a total of 1304 subjects were included in the study.results: the study revealed a strong positive correlation of age with body weight,systolic blood pressure (sbp) and diastolic blood pressure (dbp) in both genders of the a and o phenotypes and positive relationship with triglyceride (tg) in all blood groups. positive associations of age with sbp & dbp also characterize the male b and female ab phenotypes. of the lipids/lipoproteins,it was,triglycerides (tg) that showed a consistent pattern of increasing means as age of all phenotypes advanced from 16 to 75 years.conclusions: awareness and necessary precautions are to be adopted by individuals of b and o groups who are more at risk of cardiovascular disease.
