چکیده    These days, the population is getting gradually older and biotechnological improvements have turned death to a medical subject. currently, death, which is a natural process, has become an intervention area in medicine. palliative care starts with the diagnosis of all kinds of diseases that threaten life and as required, continues either with support provided to the patient’s relatives on the death of the patient or with the rehabilitation of the surviving patient. this period comprises not only medical factors but also many cultural, economic, and religious factors. the number of palliative care centers is rapidly increasing within the scope of the projects performed and policies adopted in turkey. this rapid increase creates a deficit in the number of trained and experienced healthcare professionals in this field. this article aimed to draw attention to ethical dilemmas that arise with palliative care,to determine problematic areas, and to emphasize palliative care ethical issues that have a significant place in the training of healthcare professionals. 2016 by turkish society of medical and surgical intensive care medicine.
