تاملی در برهان قاعده «کلّ حادث تسبقه قوّةٌ و مادّةٌ تحملها»

به اعتقاد حکیمان، هر حادثی مسبوق است به قوه و ماده‌ای که حامل آن قوه است. بر اساس این قاعده، ایشان خلقت یکباره و بدون سابقه پدیده‌ها را محال می‌شمارند و از این نظر مقدورهای خداوند را محدودتر از آنچه متکلمان (منکران قاعده یادشده) بدان قائل‌اند، می‌دانند. ازاین‌رو، این قاعده در مباحث الهیاتی و شناخت چگونگی آفرینش خداوند اهمیت فراوانی دارد. در این مقاله پس از توضیح مضمون این قاعده،‌ به بررسی دلیل عمده‌ای که از سوی ابن‌سینا و دیگران بر آن اقامه شده، پرداخته و مغالطه صورت‏گرفته در آن را نشان داده‌ایم، آنگاه تحقیقی را که از سوی خواجه طوسی برای تتمیم آن صورت گرفته، تبیین و سپس نقد کرده‌ایم و سرانجام برهانی دیگر بر اساس اصول و مبانی حکمت متعالیه برای اثبات قاعده به دست داده‌‌ایم.

A Reflection over the Law of 'Every Creatable is Based on a Potential and a Matter that Carries It'

According to philosophers every creatable is based on a potential and a matter that carries it. Based on this law, they hold that creation ex nihilo is impossible and thus they assume that what Allah can do is much less than what theologians (deniers of the said law) believe. This law is thus of crucial importance in understanding theological matters including the way Allah created things. After explaining the content of this law, the author studies the main argument Avicenna and others present to prove it. He shows how the argument is fallacious. He also critically assesses the supplementary argument presented by Khawja Nasir al-Din Tusi. In the end, he presents a new argument on the basis of the principles of transcendental theosophy to prove the said law.
