   Responses to painful procedures of sedatized patients at intensive care [Yoǧun bakimdaki̇ sedati̇ze hastalarin aǧrili uygulamalara tepki̇leri̇]

چکیده    Objective: sedatized intensive care patients may respond to painful procedures with certain behavior patterns without verbalize pain. this study aims to determine responses to painful procedures of sedatized intensive care patients. method: between january-march months in 2008,research was done an intensive care unit of a hospital that base on the ministry of health. responses of 42 patients' were evaluated giving to totally 441 painful procedures during 275 intra-tracheal aspiration,145 position changes and 21 dressing. data were collected by individual features form and behavioral pain scale. results: patients were grimaced at 143 painful procedures of totally 441 painful procedures. these painful procedures were 47.2% (n=130) tracheal aspiration,6.8% (n=10) position changing and 14.2% (n=3) dressing. conclusion: according to these results,generally sedatized intensive care patients respond to painful procedures by grimacing and tracheal aspiration can cause more pain than the other care applications.
