Hypnosis and anesthesia [Hi̇pnoz ve anestezi̇]

Hypnosis is a social interaction that covers changes in perception,memory and voluntary behaviours of a person according to the inspiration of an hypnoist. nowadays clinical hypnosis is not used as an alternative for general anaesthesia but complementary for sporadic cases. in these days conscious sedation has stood out resulting in an increased interest on hypnosis. imaging and electrophysiologic studies have shown that there have been changes in spinal and supraspinal pain pathways under hypnosis effect since the condensation of inspiration and attention has changed pain perception and pain pathway in a measurable level. there are different methods to assess personal variety in response to hypnosis. these measurements seem as good predictors for choosing and grading the subjects for hypnosis researchers. data coming out of the studies have shown that hypnosis is useful both for chronic and acute pain,and for surgical procedures either alone or combined with other anaesthetics.
