Cause of sudden cardiac arrest in young patient: Long QT Syndrome [Genç hastada ani̇ kardi̇yak arrest nedeni̇: Uzun QT sendromu]

Long qt syndrome is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous syndrome characterized by prolonged qt interval on ecg,ventricular arrhythmias,torsade's de pointes,syncope and sudden death caused by ventricular fibrillation. a 24-years-old male who did not have a history of a chronic disease and who was using antibiotics prescribed by an ent specialist to the last 3-4 days because of a sore throat. a cardiac arrest occurred at home with a convulsion for 2-3 minutes. the patient's rhythm was regained at the emergency room after 40 minute resuscitation. the intubated patient was transferred to intensive care unit and mechanical ventilation was maintained in simv mode. the implantable cardioverter defibrillator (icd) was not inserted due to unstable hemodynamics. despite intensive inotropic support,hypotension was deepened and after 72 hours patient died after an unresponsive cpr.
