جهانی‌شدن و توسعه پایدار

این مقاله به تبیین ظرفیت جهانی شدن برای تضمین توسعه پایدار می پردازد. نویسنده ضمن بررسی دیدگاه های بدبینانه درباره تاثیرات سلبی جهانی شدن بر توسعه پایدار که این دو متغیر را به مثابه پارادایم های رقیب و متقابل قلمداد می کنند، در چارچوب رویکرد تحول گرایانه معتقد است که جهانی شدن و توسعه پایدار دو پارادایم مکمل و متعامل با یکدیگر هستند و جهانی شدن به عنوان فرایند همپیوندی جهان بدون مرز می تواند در چارچوب پذیرفته شدۀ پایداری به گونه ای موثر عمل کند و منجر به تاثیراتی ایجابی بر توسعه پایدار در عرصه های عدالت اجتماعی، حفاظت محیط زیست و امنیت انسانی شود تا راه را برای تحقق جهانی شدن پایدار و جهانی شدن موفقیت آمیز هموار سازد. جهانی شدن در صورتی پایدار و موفقیت آمیز به شمار می آید که توانایی نسل های آینده را برای تامین نیازهای اجتماعی، اقتصادی و زیست محیطی خود مورد مصالحه و سازش قرار ندهد بلکه در عوض باید اقتصادی دانش بنیان را رقم بزند و به ارتقای سطح آگاهی های عمومی و تخصصی از طریق اهتمام ویژه به نقش عمده آموزش در دستور کارهای توسعه پایدار کمک کند. سپس مقاله به تجزیه و تحلیل چالش ها و فرصت های جهانی شدن برای توسعه پایدار می پردازد و سرانجام راهکارهای ممکن برای دستیابی به جهانی شدن پایدار و موفقیت آمیز را با تاکید بر رشد اقتصادی توام با برابری و صلح اجتماعی، تعهد سازنده در قبال اقتصاد جهانی، رعایت مقررات زیست محیطی و تحقق نظام موفق آموزشی تبیین می کند.

Globalization and Sustainabile Development

This article explores the potentiality of globalization for ensuring sustainable development. By examining the pessimistic views on the negative impact of globalization on sustainable development, which consider these two variables as contradictory and competitive paradigms, the author, in the framework of transformationalist approach, considering them as two complementary and interactive paradigms, believes that globalization, regarded as a process of “interconnectedness of borderless world”, can function effectively within the widely accepted framework of sustainability, and  is conductive to a positive impact on sustainable development, in the areas of social justice, environmental protection and human security, paving the way for “sustainable globalization” and “successful globalization”. In order for globalization to be considered as sustainable and successful, it should not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their own  social, economic and environmental needs but rather should contribute to realize a knowledgebased economy, and to promote public and professional awareness through due attention to the major role of education in agendas for sustainable development. The article analyses then the challenges and opportunities of globalization for sustainable development and finally explores the possible ways to achieve a sustainable and successful globalization with an special emphasis on economic growth combined with equality and social peace, constructive engagement with the global economy, observance of environmental regulations and realization of successful educational system
