relationship between nurses' spiritual care competence and family satisfaction in critical care units

Background and objectives: spiritual competence can help patients recover and achieve better health outcomes. this study examines the relationship between nurses’ spiritual care competence and family satisfaction of patients admitted to critical care units (ccus).methods: this was a cross-sectional study conducted from july to december 2023. a total of 123 adult critical care nurses and 123 family members of patients were randomly selected from social security hospitals in tehran city, iran. data collection tools included the spiritual care competence scale, nurses’ spiritual care competency questionnaire, and family satisfaction in the intensive care unit (icu) questionnaire. the spss software, version 24, was used for data analysis. results: the results showed the high competence of spiritual care in critical care nurses (104.60±18.47). the nurses’ lowest score of spiritual care competence was in the assessment and implementation (17.90±6.45 out of 30), and the best score was in communication (9.23±1.07 out of 10). the results showed that families had the lowest level of satisfaction in decision-making (48.62±21.23 out of 100), and the highest score was in satisfaction with care (51.60±19.54 out of 100). the findings indicated that the competence of nurses in spiritual care is not correlated to family satisfaction.  conclusion: the weak correlation between nurses’ spiritual care competence and family satisfaction highlights the complexity of factors influencing spiritual well-being in healthcare. the authors suggest further research into the factors affecting nurses’ spiritual care competence and the impact of related training on nursing practice quality.

بررسی ارتباط شایستگی مراقبت معنوی پرستاران با رضایت مندی خانواده بیماران بستری در بخش مراقبت ویژه در بیمارستان های تامین اجتماعی شهر تهران ،1402

زمینه و هدف: شایستگی معنوی به عنوان بخشی جدایی ناپذیر از مراقبت جامع، می تواند به بهبودی بیماران و دستیابی به نتایج سلامت کمک کند. این مطالعه با هدف بررسی رابطه بین شایستگی مراقبت معنوی پرستاران و رضایت خانواده بیماران بستری در بخش‌های مراقبت ویژه انجام شد.روش: این مطالعه مقطعی است. از تیر تا آذر 1402، 123 پرستار بزرگسال مراقبت‌های ویژه و 123 نفر از اعضای خانواده بیماران به‌طور تصادفی از بیمارستان‌های تامین اجتماعی شهر تهران انتخاب شدند. ابزار گردآوری داده ها شامل مقیاس صلاحیت مراقبت معنوی و ابزار گردآوری داده ها شامل پرسشنامه شایستگی مراقبت معنوی پرستاران و رضایت خانواده در بخش مراقبت های ویژه (fs-icu-24) بود. برای تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها از نرم افزار spss نسخه 24 استفاده شد. سطح معنی داری 0.05 تعیین شد.یافته ها: نتایج نشان داد که صلاحیت بالای مراقبت معنوی در پرستاران مراقبت ویژه (47/18 ± 60/104) است. کمترین امتیاز شایستگی مراقبت معنوی پرستاران در ارزیابی و اجرا (45/6 ± 90/17 از 30) و بهترین نمره در ارتباط (07/1 ± 23/9 از 10) بود. نتایج نشان داد خانواده بیماران بستری در بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه کمترین میزان رضایت را در تصمیم‌گیری (23/21 ± 62/48 از 100) و بالاترین امتیاز را در رضایت از مراقبت (54/19 ± 60/51 از 100) داشتند. یافته ها نشان داد که شایستگی پرستاران در مراقبت معنوی با رضایت خانواده بیماران بستری در بخش مراقبت های ویژه ارتباطی ندارد.نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج نشان می‌دهد که صلاحیت مراقبت معنوی پرستاران با رضایت خانواده بیمار همبستگی ضعیفی دارد. بنابراین، توصیه می‌کنیم که تحقیقات آتی عوامل موثر بر سطح صلاحیت مراقبت معنوی پرستاران و تاثیر آموزش مراقبت معنوی بر کیفیت مراقبت پرستاری را بررسی کنند.
