The Comparison of the Outranking Results of Topsis and Promethee Methods

Topsis (technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution) and promethee (preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluation) methods are among the multi criteria decision making (mcdm) methods, used frequently in researches in recent years. in this study, by using these two methods the outrankings of the european union member states and turkey are obtained for each method recpectively according to some economic criteria, and the results have been compared. there could be differences between the obtained outrankings from topsis and promethee methods due to additional information. in our study, detailed information is given about the methods and how close the results of the methods have been tested statistically. as a result, it has been seen that the outrankings obtained by promethee and topsis methods are highly similar to each other.
