groundwater quality and suitability for different purposes in the sirjanplain

Background: the management of groundwater resources requires an accurate evaluation of the quantity and quality of them, access to them in each region and knowledge of the environmental processes governing these resources. materials and methods: first the statistics and information about water quality indicators related to the year 2018. then, using schuler and wilcox diagrams were evaluate the quality of drinking and agricultural water. results: schuler diagram show, the water quality of yahya abad well is in a good to an acceptable range, and according to the wilcox diagram, it is in a good range. the values of magnesium, calcium, sulfate, chlorine, and sodium of this well are less than the favorable limit of the institute of standards and industrial research of iran . also, the wells of deh biabani, hafez abad, naseriyeh, ali abad, sahebi and taghi nokohan, roudestani, sahebi, are of poor quality in terms of both drinking and agricultural purposes than other selected wells.conclusion: in general, as we move from the northeast, east, and areas of the middle sections of the aquifer to the north, northwest, west, and south of the aquifer, the parameters of chlorine, sodium, sulfate, tds, and th fall into more unsuitable classes. also according to the results obtained from the classified map of the ec parameter based on wilcox’s method, a large section of the aquifer falls into the unsuitable class and only parts of the northeast, east and middle areas of the aquifer fall into the moderate class.
