چگونگی شکل‌گیری نیروی ژاندارمری در ایران (1329 ق)

ژاندارمری از زمان‌های قدیم با عناوین و وظایف مختلف در ایجاد نظم و امنیت کشور، به‌ویژه امنیت راه‌ها و مناطق خارج از محدوده شهرها، حفظ و حراست از مرزها، مبارزه با قاچاق کالا و مواد مخدر، حراست از جنگل‌ها و منابع‌طبیعی، سربازگیری و سایر وظایف محوله، مشغول انجام وظایف سازمانی خود بوده است. ژاندارمری نوین در زمان حکومت قاجار، با ورود مستشاران نظامی سوئدی مانند یالمارسون و با تدوین نظام‌نامه آغاز به کار کرد. این پژوهش به‌روش توصیفی - تحلیلی و با بهره‌گیری از اسناد و منابع کتابخانه‌ای در پی پاسخ‌گویی به این سوال است که نیروی ژاندارمری در ایران با وجود مشکلات گوناگون داخلی و خارجی چگونه در ایران تاسیس شد؟ یافته‌های پژوهش حاکی از آن است که برقراری نظم و امنیت میان شهرها و جاده‌ها، روستاها و مرزهای طویل کشور ایران از آغاز یکی از اهداف دولت‌مردان در هر دوره تاریخی بوده است. ازاین‌رو تا سال 1329 ق تمامی دولت‌ها به‌مقتضای زمان و برحسب امکانات خود تدابیری برای تثبیت وضعیت کشور به کار بردند و به‌منظور رفع ناامنی و بی‌نظمی در راه‌ها درصدد تشکیل سازمان‌هایی مجهز و مسلّح برآمدند اما هیچ‌کدام از این تشکیلات تا زمان تشکیل سازمان ژاندارمری نوین در دوره قاجاریه دوام و ثبات نداشتند.
