   Effect of resistance exercises and nano-curcumin supplementation on matrixmetallopeptidase 13 and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein in women with kneeosteoarthritis: a clinical controlled study

چکیده    Introduction: this study aimed to investigate the effect ofresistance training and nano-curcumin supplementation on matrixmetallopeptidase 13 (mmp13) and cartilage oligomeric matrixprotein (comp) in patients with knee osteoarthritis.materials and methods: in this open-label parallel randomizedtrial study 40 women aged between 45-60 years with kneeosteoarthritis (oa) were randomly divided into the control,resistance training, nano-curcumin supplementation, andresistance training + nano curcumin supplementation groups.socio-demographic characteristics, anthropometric and clinicalparameters of the patients (womac test) were collected at thebeginning and end of the study. the levels of mmp 13 and compin the synovial fluid were measured with a human-specific elisakit.results: resistance training, supplement intake, andtraining/supplementation did not significantly change the synoviallevels of comp and mmp 13. compared with the control group,womac scores were significantly higher in the interventiongroups (p = 0.038) .conclusion: resistance training and nano-curcumin by changingthe womac scores of patients with osteoarthritis can have abeneficial effect on improving the condition of these patients.
