مروری بر تبیین‌های آسیب‌شناختی اعتیادهای رفتاری و مقایسه آن با اعتیادهای دارویی

اگرچه در گذشته اعتیاد فقط با اعتیادهای دارویی شناخته می‌شد اما امروزه تعریف آن بسیار گسترده‌تر شده است. قمار، خرید اجباری، اعتیاد به بازی‌های ویدیویی، استفاده آسیب‌رسان از اینترنت و حتی کار یا ورزش افراطی نیز نوعی اعتیاد محسوب می‌شوند. معیارهای موجود متخصصان برای تشخیص انواع اعتیادهای رفتاری بسیار بحث‌برانگیز است و همین مسئله تعریف اعتیادهای رفتاری را دشوار کرده است. برای تعریف دقیق‌تر اعتیادهای رفتاری لازم است مرز اعتیادهای رفتاری با اختلال‌های روان‌شناختی دیگر مثل اختلال‌های کنترل تکانه، اختلال‌های خوردن و اختلال وسواس اجباری نیز مشخص شود. از سوی دیگر شباهت و تفاوت‌های بین اعتیادهای رفتاری و اعتیادهای دارویی نیز بسیار مورد توجه قرار گرفته است. برخی از متخصصین هر دوی این اعتیادها را از یک گروه می‌دانند و برخی آن‌ها را از یکدیگر تفکیک می‌کنند. همچنین توجه بیش از حد به اعتیادهای رفتاری می‌تواند مرز بین رفتارهای روزمره و این نوع اعتیاد را کمرنگ کند. در انتها عده‌ای از متخصصین معتقدند که باید به ویژگی‌های شخصیتی افراد درگیر در این اعتیادها و هر نوع اعتیاد به طور جداگانه توجه کرد و یکی کردن همه‌ی افراد و همه‌ی انواع اعتیادهای رفتاری ما را دچار اشتباه خواهد کرد.
