بازخوانی روایتی منسوب به امام رضا (ع) در نفی رویت‌ پذیری خداوند

در مسئلۀ امکان رویت‌ پذیری خداوند در برخی کتب روایی معتبر امامیه، روایتی به امام رضا (ع) منسوب است که بر اساس آن، اجتماع رویت خداوند با ایمان به او در دنیا و آخرت، امری ممتنع تلقی شده است. اندیشمندان شیعی این روایت را از روایات صعب و غامض برشمرده و در تبیین معنای آن کوشیده‌اند؛ اما اشکالاتی که متوجه تبیین‌های ایشان می‌شود، غیرقابل قبول بودن آن‌ها را آشکار می‌سازد. در این ‌میان، هرچند می‌توان با توجه به مبانی فکری متکلمان روزگار امام رضا (ع) راه حل بدیعی را بر اساس تقابل «تکلیف به ایمان» و «وقوع معرفت ضروری» مطرح کرد و اجتماع‌ناپذیری «رویت خداوند» با «ایمان به او» را مربوط به تقابل یاد شده دانست، اما این راه حل نیز خالی از اشکال نیست؛ از این‌رو، همان‌ طور که عده‌ای بیان کرده‌اند، باید صدور این روایت را حداقل به ‌شکلی که در منابع روایی آمده است، نفی کرد؛ به‌خصوص آنکه محتوای آن با برخی آیات قرآن و نیز بعضی روایت‌ها در تعارض است.
