   Development of Ultrasonic Measuring System for Evaluating Furrow Profile Created by furrow openers under Soil Bin Conditions

چکیده    Furrow profile created furrow openers effect splashing, drifting, removal of the seeds in furrow, and soil moisture. in this study, furrow profile area formed of three different furrow opener in soil bin was determined by used different measuring method. for this purpose, an ultrasonic measuring system was developed, the suitability of this system was compared with two commonly used methods. the one of method is a sheet metal glued on paper sunk vertically to furrow profile, the another method is a profilometer. in results of research, soil swelling and furrow section areas determined using ultrasonic sensor, profilometer and sheet metal method are statistically different from each other. soil swelling areas determined using ultrasonic sensor and profilometer are lower than those of the sheet metal method, and furrow section areas determined using ultrasonic sensor and profilometer are more than those of the sheet metal method. sheet metal/ultrasonic sensors and sheet metal/profilometer area ratios have been viewed. sheet metal/ultrasonic sensor area ratios for soil swelling ranged from 1.1 to 1.16, sheet metal/profilometer area ratios ranged from 1.46 to 1.71. sheet metal/ultrasonic sensor area ratios for furrow section ranged from 0.76 to 0.82, sheet metal/profilometer area ratios ranged from 0.29 to 0.37. it is observed that the ultrasonic measuring system is more sensitive than profilometer measuring system, and the ultrasonic measuring system may promise for determination of furrow profile and furrow section area.
