Length-weight relationships of nine fish species living in the Almus Dam Lake

In this study, the length-weight relationships of the 9 fish species (capoeta tinca, leuciscus cephalus, chondrostoma regium, barbus plebejus, capoeta capoeta, oncorhynchus mykiss, chalcalburnus chalcoides, cyprinus carpio and siluris glanis) living in the almus dam lake (turkey-tokat) were determined. specimens were obtained between 2005 and 2006 by using gillnets with differing mesh sizes (17, 25, 36, 60 and 70 mm). the minimum, the maximum and the mean “b” values of the length-weight relationship among these 9 species were estimated as 2.709 (for c. chalcoides), 3.267 (for c. regium) and 3.065 (±0.17), respectively. the relationship between length and weight were calculated maximum in c. carpio (r^2= 0.99) and minimum in c. chalcoides (r^2= 0.91). growth was found as positive allometric for c. tinca, l. cephalus, c. regium, o. mykiss and isometric for b. plebejus, c. capoeta, c. chalcoides, c. carpio and s. glanis.
