Introduction of the Southeastern Anatolia Region Water and Fishery Resources Spatial Database on the Basis of Geographic Information System (GIS)

Determining sustainable management strategies of gap region`s fishery is important for the efficient water resources usage within the frame of aquaculture and fisheries. protection of bio-diversity, ecosystem, and human health sensitivity should be considered throughout of this determination process. at this stage, establishing and evaluating spatial database in geographic information systems (gis) are indispensable for today`s decision makers. in this study, a detailed spatial database that belongs to important water sources, fishery cooperatives, and fish enterprises in gap region has been developed and explained.
