Cryptococcus neoformans antibodies in Gilles de la Tourette syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorders

Gilles de la tourette and obsessive-compulsive disorder are neuropsychiatric disorders of unknown cause in childhood period. the aim of the study is to compare of antibody presence to c.neoformans that is “dormant” infectious agent in immunocompetent hosts, between obsessive-compulsive disorder and gilles de la tourette. c.neoformans antibodies were found in 6 out of 38 (15.7%) patients and 4 out of 35 (11.4%) healthy volunteers (p>0.05). our results showed that c.neoformans antibodies in obsessive-compulsive disorder and gilles de la tourette sydrome are not different from normal population.
