Looking at interpersonal relationships, it can be observed that one develops dependent relationships due to a number of personality traits and behavior patterns. this concept reveals “codependency”. in order to measure the levels of codependency of individuals, various measurement tools have been developed. the spann-fischer codependency scale (sfcds) developed by fischer, spann and crawford (1991), which includes the acts as excessive focus on the outside / extreme babysitter; find it difficult to express feelings and relationships with others to focus on a goal that measures to assess the codependency traits, is one of the most important psychometric instruments. in this study, it is aimed to assess psychometric properties of the turkish version of the spann-fischer codependency scale-sfcds. according to the goal of this study, a dispositional form of the spann-fischer codependency scale and in order to search the validity criteria of the study, “general health questionnaire-12” and “rosenberg self esteem scale” were administered to participants. cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated to study the internal consistency. the percentage of factor load values of the overall variance were checked, 18.698 % was obtained. the cronbach alpha was calculated as 0.65. the original form of the scale is an one factor structure and the pearson correlation analysis provided the validity of the measurement tool and the scale included adequate internal consistency. the sfcds is a valid and reliable measure to be used in research purposes among turkish individuals.
