STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS ON SEFERIHISAR CHILDREN’S GAMES

Games and toys, produced by a society, reflect the cultural values of society. traditional children’s games, in terms of their structures, are the most important products of folklore to protect folk culture and has an important place in the transfer of culture from generation to generation. there have been lots of studies about traditional children’s games in turkey. in these studies, traditional children’s games are classified based on their features such as their contents, manipulation of time, the age and gender of the players, game toys and functions. all these studies have brought a different perspective to the topic, and at the same time, have revealed the rich structure of children’s games. in this article, the structural features of traditional children’s games, compiled form izmir-seferihisar, are analyzed. also on the basis of seferihisar traditional children’s games, basic and variable elements of traditional children’s games are identified structurally.
