A GROUP OF BRONZE OBJECTS FROM ISPARTA MUSEUM

Isparta is located between the northern and eastern borders of pisidia region. the geopolitical position of isparta has great importance in providing cultural communication with the western, northern and southern neighbors of pisidia. there are only two systematic excavation and some field survey in isparta. the surveys has been carried out with great care by mehmet ozsait, since the middle of the 1970s. our knowledge about the cultural history of isparta is limited with data originated from excavations at necropolis of harmanoren, antioch of pisidia and some field surveys. therefore, it is necessary to increase the number of scientific archaeological excavations and surveys in isparta. in addition, it is greatly important to publish small findings from isparta museum in order to understand the cultural history of the region. the aim of this article is to study, date and introduce a group of bronze objects from isparta museum and consequently contribute to the cultural history of the city. 10 bronze objects from isparta museum studied in this article are dated to the period between 8th. century b.c. and byzantine period. it indicates that isparta has a great potential not only in iron age, but also during classical ages.
