Effects of Irrigation Water with Different Salinity and Leaching Fraction on Spinach (Spinacia Oleracea L.) Growth, Yield andDrainage Water Quality

The study was conducted as a pot experiment in a greenhouse to determine effects of different irrigation water salinity and leaching fraction on growth, yield and drainage water quality during years of 2016-2017. the study was carried out 5 different irrigation water salinities (t1=0 ds m^-1 ,t2=1.0 ds m^-1,t3=2.5 ds m^-1,t4=5 ds m^-1 ve t5=7.5 ds m^-1) and 3 different leaching fractions (y1=%10,y2=%20,y3=%30) in randomized block design with factorials in 3 replications. according to the results of the research, significant and negative relationships were observed between the water salinity and dry and wet plant weight. considering the amount of leaching water is taken into consideration, the yield obtained increased as leaching fraction increased. as the irrigation water salinity increases, the efficiency of the leaching water decreases. the relative yield reduction in y1 was about 30% for t2 and t3, and between 50 and 75% for t4 and t5. the highest yield was obtained from t1y3 (91.57 g pots^-1), while the lowest yield from t5y1 (22.93 g pot^-1). in parallel with the increase of the salinity of the applied irrigation water, the amount of salt accumulated in the soil also increased. increasing the fraction of leaching has resulted in a decrease in the salt levels in soil and drainage water salinity.
