The Evaluation of Orthodontic Treatment Need İndex in 12-14 Year Old Children

Objective: in this study, it is aimed to determine the severity of malocclusion of patients by using iotn (ac and dhc) index, which has been proven internationally and determine the patients most in need of treatment. material-method: this study consists of evaluating the orthodontic treatment need index in order to determine the treatment needs of 534 patients between the ages of 12-14 who applied to the pediatric department of pedodontics. results: in the study, according to the ac index (ac 8-10), the dhc index (dhc 4-5) % 36.5 indicated that orthodontic treatment is necessary. the distribution of orthodontic treatment needs varied among the three indices. the reasons for different outcomes between index values for orthodontic treatment needs may be the size of sample groups, and the parameters assessed in the indices used. conclusion: in studies, the number of patients related to the orthodontic treatment need is as high as possible, which resulted in more favorable results in order to obtain more detailed results.
