   A Very Rare Cause of Acute Abdomen: Gangrenous Cecal Diverticulitis

چکیده    Involvement of caecum in diverticulosis coli is infrequent, accounting for 3.6% of all colonic diverticula and progress is usually asymptomatic. in symptomatic cases, acute abdomen is seen clinically. it may be difficult to distinguish from acute appendicitis with physical examination and the use of advanced radiological imaging methods is required. the diagnosis is generally made intraoperatively. the reported frequency is approximately 1 in 300 appendectomies. the case is here reported witth results of a patient who presented with complaints of lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, high temperature and right lower quadrant pain who was preoperatively diagnosed with caecal diverticulitis.
