Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Mandible: Case Report

Objective: adenoid cystic carcinoma, also called silindroma (acc), the second most frequent malignant epithelial tumor of the salivary glands. slow-growing, locally invasive, and is a rare malignant tumor acc is often occur 5.- 6. decades. approximately, consists of % 50 to 70 of reported cases of minor salivary glands. the most frequent localization is palate, usually occured of the foramen in palatinum majus. clinically, the early local pain, facial nerve paralysis, local invasion and fixation to the surrounding tissues are seen and superficial ulcerations, wich occured especially in intraoral lesions, are joined to the table. radical surgical approaches to the treatment of acc, postoperative radiotherapy is preferred in order to prevent recurrence. in this case report acc which originated from right mandibular ramus region in a 41 year old male patient and its follow up period are presented.
