Localized gingival pigmentation working with bromine in an individual

Objective: discolorations in oral mucosa and gingival tissues have diagnostic value with regard to variouslocal and systemic diseasesor chemicaltoxicity. lesions on skin and mucous membranes, inflammation and neurologicsymptomsmayaris eduetoin halation order malcontact with bromine. beside, halitosis and pigmentation on buccalmucosa and tonguemay develop as oral findings. the purpose of this casere port was to present the diagnosis, treamentand 5 years follow-up of the patientwho worked with bromine and developed localised gingival pigmentati on duringt hisperiod. case report: male patient with a gingival discoloration complaint, aged 34, enrolled in suleyman demirel university, faculty of dentistry was referred to ourclinicdue to gingival discoloration. it was recorded that patient worked on food analysis for last 6 months, utilisedbromine and the pigmentation occureddu ring this period. clinical, radographic and histopathologic evaluations were carriedout. clinical evaluation of brown-black pigmentations with the absence of inflammatory infiltration in the histopathologic samples revealed that the pigmentation could have been caused by bromine.
