Antipsychotic Treatment in Comorbidity of Schizophrenia and Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome: A case report

Patients with schizophrenia have higher rates of metabolic system problems than general population. cardiac diseases are important causes of death in these patients. wolff parkinson white syndrome is a congenital heart disease that may increase the sudden cardiac death due to ventricular arrhythmias. thirty three year-old patient who were hospitalized with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, was diagnosed with wolff parkinson white syndrome. in this case report, we reported a patient with schizophrenia and wolff parkinson white syndrome treated with haloperidol and aripiprazole with no cardiac side effect observed during the four months’ follow-up. in patients with schizophrenia, routine cardiac examination and choosing appropriate antipsychotics in the comorbidity of schizophrenia and wolff parkinson white syndrome are very important.
