SYNTAX Score in Coronary Artery Disease

Cardiovascular diseases are the most important causes of mortality and morbidity in our country and developed countries. the most common cardiovascular disease is coronary artery disease (cad) and is associated with high mortality and morbidity. in 99% of coronary artery disease, etiology is atherosclerosis. coronary angiography is the gold standard method for determining the severity of cad due to atherosclerosis. coronary angiography is both diagnostic and treatment modality. therefore some scoring systems based on angiography images were developed. syntax score is one of the scoring systems used to rank the anatomical severity of coronary artery disease. in this review, it is aimed to examine the use of syntax score in coronary artery disease and to summarize the literature with current information.
